i was searching this piece of plastic since i knew it was released. finally i found it and it's even better than my expectations. each song is possessed with so much anger and hate, completed with impossible fast drumparts (i've heard fred is only 17?), bulldozerbass what makes your stomach come out from where it belongs, a really heavy guitarsound and a guttural voice like an earthquake, no lie! some songs are introduced by a nice monologue or people in pain, everytime continued by tornadoMINCEgrind. i say mince, because a lot of songs contain a groove where you have to move. maybe also because there are two coversongs on this treasure: after accident (dead infection) & lifelock (doom) but a really gory version. the only difference between this cd and the split with lymphatic phlegm is that marco joined N.V.E. on guitar. one negative point: there's a "hidden track" after the 18th song. there's 3 minutes nothing and then starts a spawn of chaotic grinding madness. i suggest on the next cd to fill this up with some more sounds. i appreciate it a lot that inside the tray there are some statements against the human race, i support this words for 100%. lay out (art direction & design) is done by sasha C.B.T. actually, i'm not good in talking, so i said enough. act now, move your fucking arses and support this band goddamned, they deserve it!!! cunt-acts are above... buy or die-
"Neuro-Visceral Exhumation", one of the more fancier band names I've come across so far, play a nice blend of gore grind and old school death metal, the latter being pushed a bit to the background due to the intense speed of the drums and the somewhat grind gore oriented vocals, the guitars however sound heavy and death metal-esque most of the time, with a low buzz tone, creating a thick atmosphere not uncommon on most death metal albums, but most of the time uncommon on most of the grind core albums now a days, who mostly rely on just the blistering speeds and crazy guttural vocals that "Neuro-Visceral Exhumation" display on this great album called "Mass Murder Festival". Their somewhat unique style of sound isn't the only thing that sets them apart from the gross of today’s grind core scene, they actually try to support their murder, rape and anti-social lyrics and image with a sense of logic. The artwork features catchy lines with some grammar mistakes: Well, since their last effort last year, they have a new line up they have new ideas and they have new sound quality. What for?. HEHEH, just to give us their best brain explosion; for the grinders who are searching for an alternative to MORTICIAN because theya re able anymore to catch the different riffs from oen song to another, adn to those who think that CBT is too slowly sometimes, these guys are here for the best parts because it is very rare and I didn't listen to such a gore grind powerfull art since months, mixing only the good advantagesof both CBT 's tyle and MORTICIAN's tyle. The only bad point on that album is the fact that they are very closed to DEAD INFECTION of the beginning, and they are covering a song of them, before the reforming, and that for the first songs, apart from 2 or 3 with an excellent mid tempo, the following of songs is a bit sounding the same. But quickly then there are new compos that are boosting the brain and the enormous sound of all the guys is blasting the whole room. The incredible vocals used for that kind of style is making the whole result sicker than the sickness itself and the talent of the musicians, very well organized, playing all together as if there were only one guy making all the instruments in the same time, the concept of the band itself, being created to bring the listeners, e new gory conception of the grindgore , well, all that added together is going to make some new addicted guys soon. All that to say that there is also an hidden song at the end of the CD (gore grind noise) and a special mention, and tribute to Luis for the performance. Waiting for something? Buy this!! MAELSTROM WEBZINEThe other two No Escape Records releases I have reviewed in this issue (Captain Cleanoff and Vaginal Carnage) sound like ear candy when compared to this. This is the real gore grind deal folks, no kidding. For those people who missed out on the N.V.E / Bradyphagia split that came out last year (like me) this is a chance to check out these Brazilian sickos again. What makes it even better is that this is a full length (30 minute) album. The first thing I noticed about their sound is that the drumming is very varied and interesting, and absolutely brutal too. The riffing gets very undiscernible sometimes and Fred (drums) takes control of the groove with a lot of cool patterns and fills, thereby turning what might have been chaotic sections into gory structured carnage. Gore grind lovers have nothing to worry about, nothing on this release is anything other than sick splattering gore! The guitars are tuned very low and they sound really heavy when they get into one of those Cock and Ball Torture-like grooves, and the rest of the time they rumble along with John’s insane wild hog snorting vocals. Fred has been credited with most of the songwriting and thus it’s no wonder that the drums play a major role in this. 'Subcutaneous Defleshment (Part II)' and 'How to Hide a Ravaged Body...Bathtub with Sulfuric Acid' features some awesome drumming. There are two cover songs, one by Dead Infection and the other by Doom. Both are pretty well done, especially the Dead Infection cover of “After Accident.” Some of the intros just spoil the feeling of continuity between songs, which work best as an uninterrupted flow of vileness, and silly intros of screaming girls put me off. Anyway, this is very sick and brutal goregrind, something that should be in your collection today! ROTTREVORE ZINE(666/10) Out from the rotten wounds that whips furiously about your face and neck, raise from the world of mad...born the destructive sounds blowing from south America, fueled by machine gun drumming of Fred, buzzsawing guitars of Marco Oishi and extermination vocals of John Jorge collected in one flesh ripping disc. Neuro Visceral Exhumation play a perfect downtune sounds in the vein of Last Days Of Humanity and Blood Duster. Highly advise for anyone who enjoys mass murder and serial killers...add this to your torso collection. COLLATERAL DAMAGE WEBZINEWell, heres a band I like! This lot released a split EP with Bradyphagia a little while back (also on No Escape) and I really got into that, and now I have a full length CD to whirl. Neuro Visceral Exhumation hail from the bloody gore pit that is Brazil, also the home of Rotting Flesh and Lymphatic Phlegm. Musically they are not just the average crusty gore blast that is now the norm, nor are they the Carcass inspired metal/ gore that The County Medical Examiners and the like worship (though the Carcass influence is definitely there). No, NVE are more along the lines of a cross between the gore of Regurgitate, the groove and heaviness of Cock and Ball Torture and with an air of technicality that hints towards Carcass but also the death scene, and then speed to match anything but the fastest bands out there. We have here 18 tracks and just under half an hour of this insane brutality, and it is easily some of the best gore grind I have heard in recent times, and its propelled straight to the top with the likes of Lymphatic Phlegm, Last Days of Humanity and the godly Pigsty. And theres plenty of variety as well, its not all just blasting, monotonous shit, theres break downs into heavy and groove laden segments, theres crustier passages, more metallic ones. The vocals are total vomit spew gutter grunts, as if there was likely to be anything else, and there are a selection of samples as well. NVE even grace us with a cover of Dead Infections 'After Accident' and their own gory version of 'Lifelock' by the legends of crust, Doom! This is an excellent CD and a definite must have for all you gore and grind junkies, especially those who like a little groove in their blasting! The only problem I have with this is that NVE seem to be another band that are pro rape, which is a retarded idea, but i aint here to censor beliefs and hopefully they are only expressing this through songs and not actions... Cool CD nonetheless. BRAINDEAD WEBZINENow seriously, this album is outstanding! I haven't heard a band that captures the essence of how gore-grind should sound so perfectly in a damn long while... Neuro-Visceral Exhumation really is spot-on gore-grind to me... it's like if they were picking up where Malignant Tumour left off a few years ago. Remember that Malignant Tumour Split Cd w/ Squash Bowels? Well these guys sound a awful lot like this, the merciless riffing of Dead Infection, the genius grind (and slightly crust-core-tinted) simplicity of early Agathocles and the sickening vibe of Pathologist, plus a little CBT. They're rampant, heavy and gory but they strike hard and fast at the same time. Vocals are growled, spewed and gurgled, guitars are truly down-tuned, riffs are crude, basic and heavy, drumming is steadily grinding, always varied, swift and fast. This is my favorite type of grindy goodness! So I give this near full-marks, I'm not sure it's really fair but I don't care, I know my ratings are pretty much bullcrap by now... That's just the excitement level I'm in listening to this cd; and I wish more bands had barely half of this band's energy and shattering sound. A truly grand gore-grind album to me then. The sound production is exactly the right amount of clean, heavy and raw, the cover artwork and layout by Sacha of CBT fame is definitely slick; grotesque yet beautiful. There's no lyrics included but judging by the album and song titles, N.V.E. traded their usual pathological shtick for a pretty extreme mass murder approach (something more in the spirit of Catasexual Urge Motivation). The 2 or 3 horror-oriented intro samples might be a little unnecessary but they're still effective and kept to a minimum. Overall, this stuff kicks major ass! And wait till you hear Neuro-Visceral Exhumation's rendition of "After Accident" (one of my all-time fave Dead Infection tracks)... This is the absolute must-hear kind of gore-grind junk... Get it or die! XTREEM MUSICAs many of you may know, there's a whole movement behind the Gore/ Grind scene. Many bands appear in this scene: some of them are good enough to take the attention and some others are pure crap. One of the common points in many of them is their lack of originality, as they prefer to copy other known and classic acts than to make good and interesting music with their own ideas. But well, this same thing happens in other styles into the extreme scene, isn't it? Well, after this introduction, I'm going to talk about this Brasilian act called NEURO-VISCERAL EXHUMATION. They have just released this record throught his Aussie label and apart of the fact that this release is not especially original at all, I must confess that after having heard the record a couple of times I like it! Well, the guys play very well. It's Gore/ Grind, but with a meaning. It's not the typical bludgeoning wall of noise we are used to hear in other bands. It has reminiscences from such acts like DEAD INFECTION (the most of them) or GUT, but they have a semi-extreme-Hardcore touch that make them a little bit different from the rest. And one of the best things in this release is the cover they do of one of my favourite UK Hardcore bands: DOOM and their classic "Life Lock" (gory version!). Simply amazing! There is another good cover from DEAD INFECTION's "After Accidents". Another positive thing about this CD is the general layout that's very good too. Well, maybe they're not the best Gore band in the planet, but what the fuck? They are good enough!!! Of course, the lyrics deal with everything involving flesh, blood and guts!!! 7.5 BLUDGAWD EXTREME METAL RESOURCEN.V.E are 3 guys from Brazil. They play Grind. Fast, raging, Gore Grind.... with hints of crust, anarcho, mince, and thrashcore. Theyre very pissed off. VERY piss off. What are the pissed off about? Everything. If you can think about it, chances are they have a problem with it.... or they will soon. What does this sound like? It sounds like 3 guys who are pissed off and taking it on me with their instruments. Were all sadists in some way.... so give me more. 18 tracks(2 covers. Dead Infection - After Accident and Doom - Lifelock) in about 30mins, of furious, gore drenched, blood spewing, bile regurgitating, mass murdering, cannibalistic, hate-filled rage. Ive heard some pissed off shit in my life.... but holy fuck... I hope these guys NEVER take an Anger Managment course. Cranium caving bass. Spine-ripping riffs. Cock crushes blasts. Shit spewing vocals. Dead bodies all over the inlay cards. A "Thanks list" thats a giant FUCK YOU to everyone(except the few people they like). And horrible, dirty, filthy production. Thats right, I fucking love this. The split with Lymphatic Phelgm was a teaser, as far as Im concerned. This is the real fucking deal. Send these guys to the Middle East. No one will come back alive.... or everyone will and everyone else will die. Fans of Dismembered Fetus, Crom, Agathocles, Gut, Regurgitate, Spazz, Exit-13, Exhumed, Anal Cunt, etc.... go get this right now. Steal it if you have too... just fucking get it. Yeah, you better fucking believe this comes HIGHLY FUCKING RECOMMENDED. METAL SHTORMNVE return with their debut full length, following a split CD with SANITYS DAWN (haven't heard it) and a split 7" with BRADYPHAGIA (got two horns up when reviewed in Metalshtorm Oct 2002.) The production is an improvement over the 7", all the trademark NVE qualities are still there but a little clearer and easier to decipher. And those qualities include - a bowel-moving bottom end to their sound (the bass guitar has to be heard to be believed, but be warned, you WILL shit,) excellent pummeling drumming played with a lot of skill and a bit of flair (apparently even better live,) vocals like a satanic boar raping an insinkerator and catchy yet simple guitars. Plenty of blasting interspersed with simplistic grind hooks - this is first rate material and NVE do not put a foot wrong for the whole disc. You quickly realise there's a lot more to this disc than just roaring and blasting, occassional simple yet ominous riffs remeniscent of old school primitive death metal lend an oppressive air of violence to the music - kind of like what MORTICIAN set out to acheive, but in this case it consistently works. There are DEAD INFECTION and DOOM cover versions also. A couple of horror movie intros are used sparsely enough to add to the feel of the CD rather than interrupt it. The packaging by Sasha of COCK AND BALL TORTURE is impeccable, featuring a bizarre gore collage on the cover and a superb layout. This band is unintentionally hilarious and appealing on several levels. All told this is a fantastic release, sure to be praised in the scene and in retrospect I reckon considered a goregrind classic. At my house anyway. SPLATTERED WEBZINERegarding the band name and title, one might think the whole theme is going to revolve around blood and guts. Not necessarily . Mass Murder refers to, basically, humanity’s stupidity through politics and religious fanaticism (already stated), poverty, misery, corruption, and many other problems (social and nonsocial) that exist in the world. These are the things that piss Neuro-visceral Exhumation off. So what’s the end result? A hate-filled, politically incorrect casserole of splatter. Mass Murder Festival is NVE’s follow-up to their split with Bradyphagia. They’ve evolved, the recording is much more crisp, instruments are more clear, and they’re more than just gore hounds. If you were in a torpor and missed the 7”, it was primitive death metal, plagued with blast beats, unrecognizable barbaric vokills, with absolutely no solos or melody. Pure brutality. Festival's sound, though a more neoteric recording, is basically the same idea musically but not lyrically. If you like Brodequin or Disavowed, you’ll want get your hands on this CD. Nice layout, awesome cover, and above all, raw Brazilian death metal at its best. MOTHER FUCKER WEBZINEHere it is.The first N.V.E. solo release so far.Must say the sound reminds me of Dead Infection stuff. The new trax are different than what you might have heard earlyer from this band.Guitar riffing is somewhat faster in the old Regurgitate way.Production is intense and clear.Drums are wild as shit and vocals are just plain and simple said barbaric. Those remind me of Squash Bowels & Dead Infection again. The songs got lots of tempo changes at times it sounds like mince core, at other times its gore grind. You got 18 tunes here, they are mostly short ones. There are 2 cover tunes also, one by Dead Infection , the other by DOOM .(who would have thought ?) Especially that DOOM tune sounds really cool.As far as ideology, there are couple of social issues & facts here, that haven't been presented in GoreGrind that much so far.I find that approach pretty much all right.I the epilogue; this is a hell of a goregrind release. If you liked N.V.E. before, there is no reason why you wouldn't like it now.Nice shit. | |||
